A Michael Palin military jacket from Terry Jones' musical comedy Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. Palin wore an elegant jacket while playing a soldier in the First Anglo-Zulu War, whose comrade's leg was bitten off by a tiger that turned out to be two men in a costume.

The Meaning of Life was the final feature film from the Monty Python troupe and was met with critical acclaim. Palin himself has had an illustrious career, both as part of Monty Python and individually. In 2013 he was awarded the BAFTA Fellowship, and in 2019 he was knighted by the late Queen Elizabeth.

The jacket has a costume label sewn in its inside pocket on which Palin's full name is printed. The jacket exhibits a hole inside the collar.
