Eric Idle's paint pallet and brushes, Death's scythe and Terry Gilliam's scroll from the "Why Michelangelo Didn't Paint The Last Supper", "Every Sperm is Sacred" and "Spanish Inquisition" sketches, respectively. Idle played Michelangelo as he argued with the Pope (John Cleese) over the artist's interpretation of The Last Supper; Death appeared on stage during the "Every Sperm is Sacred" dance sequence; and Gilliam played one of the Spanish inquisitors. The lot comprises one paint pallet, four brushes, a long scythe, and a paper scroll

This lot is from the Monty Python Live (mostly) - One Down Five to Go stage show, which ran at the O2 Arena, London for 10 sold out nights, from July 1st - 5th, and 15th - 20th 2014. It was the legendary comedy troupe's last live performance ever and billed as "The End of Monty Python". The final night was live-streamed on UKTV Gold and to cinemas around the world, then subsequently released on DVD and BluRay. Many of the items in the stage show were created as one-offs, and all lots are guaranteed to have been used during the show.
