Legendary multihyphenate Leonard Nimoy's personal Harry Cherry sportcoat. Most famous for his role as Spock (and later a director of two films) in the Star Trek franchise, Nimoy also had memorable roles in a number of landmark films and television series, including Mission: Impossible, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and T. J. Hooker, among others.
Distinctive stitching and patterning in the lapel and left chest of this plaid-patterned woolen sportcoat screen-match to when Paris (Nimoy) wore it in the Season 4 episode "Lover's Knot" of Mission: Impossible. Nimoy later wore this exact coat again when he guest-starred as Lt. Paul McGuire in the Season 2 episode "Vengeance is Mine" of T. J. Hooker, an episode best known as an onscreen reunion with his Star Trek co-star William Shatner.
This coat originated from the collection of Audrey Anderson, the former President of the Leonard Nimoy Fan Club. Made by Harry Cherry Gentleman's Tailor of Beverly Hills, it features a silken lining and an owner's label hand-labeled for "Leonard Nimoy" and dated "Aug 1969," seven months before the first airing of "Lover's Knot," suggesting Nimoy wore the coat onscreen for the first time in the episode before retaining it. It exhibits some loose threads and staining to the label and the sleeve lining.
