A Head Scanning Mask Creation Machine used in the 2006 J.J. Abrams film, Mission: Impossible 3, starring Tom Cruise. In the film Ethan Hunt’s (Tom Cruise) team of IMF Agents breaks into the Vatican to kidnap Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a merchant for black market explosives. A device is used to create a mask that replicates Davian’s face. This is an effects prop which has been restored with easy to use power controls which control the scanner's mechanical movements when connected to a power supply. The machine is enclosed inside a closing black case with a hinge clasp latch. When opened, resin pieces are exposed which are designed to look like components for the head scanning machine.
This piece has been cosmetically and mechanically restored in order to return it to its original condition. The scanner moves around a resin head which is displayed at the machine's center. This piece shows some signs of wear but is in overall good production used condition.
