A photo-matched black and white check shirt worn by Michael Jackson during a photoshoot for his official 1985 calendar, published in 1984. The calendar-issued at the height of Jackson's global success-featured the "King of Pop" in a series of styled portraits and costume changes. In the images for April and July, Jackson is seen wearing this distinctive check shirt paired with dungarees. The garment photo-matches both images through the position of the check pattern across the sleeves and collar.

The short-sleeved shirt is made from thin cotton in a black, grey, and white check pattern, with small pearlescent buttons running down the front. Sewn inside is the original Western Costume Co. label, typewritten in black with the words "July" and "M. Jackson." The shirt displays a small hole in the front and minor pulled threads. Also included in the lot is a copy of the 1985 calendar.
