This group of four vintage original double-weight glossy photographs is truly rare and highly desirable, as they are Country-of-Origin and printed in Germany for the original release. The images include the "False Maria" (Brigitte Helm) inciting underground workers to revolt; the city's greatest inventor, Rotwang (Rudolf Klein-Rogge), who created the "False Maria"; Grot, Guardian of the underground Heart Machine (Heinrich George); and The Thin Man (Fritz Rasp), Joh Fredersen, the wealthy industrialist (Alfred Abel), and a woman as they react in panic. All four photographs are stamped "Made In Germany" and are in excellent condition.

"Metropolis" is a German expressionist silent science fiction film directed by Fritz Lang and co-written with Thea von Harbou, based on her 1925 novel written as a film treatment. Starring Gustav Frohlich, Alfred Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, and Brigitte Helm, it was produced by Erich Pommer at Babelsberg Studios for Ufa. Considered a landmark in science-fiction cinema, it was one of the first feature-length films in the genre. Production lasted 17 months (1925-26) and cost over five million Reichsmarks. Produced during Germany's Weimar era, is a futuristic dystopian tale about Freder, son of the city's ruler, and Maria, a workers' advocate, who strive to unite the divided classes. Its core message: "The mediator between the head and the hands must be the heart."
