A hand-drawn and hand-painted Phil Shearer neck socket design with 10 archive prints from the production of Lana and Lilly Wachowski's The Matrix. The Machines inserted jacks into neck sockets embedded within humans to keep them enslaved in pods and programmed into the Matrix.
The film's credited concept illustrator, Phil Shearer, rendered this neck concept drawing on off-white card during the pre-production visualisation stage, using ink for the outline and gouache for the finish. The drawing is dated "98" and signed by Shearer.
The ten prints depict annotated drawings and diagrams of pod co-axial head jacks, neck sockets and power pod I.V. nozzles. Each print is signed by Shearer with black ink. Dimensions: 45 cm x 35.25 cm (17.75" x 14")
