An illustration for Trinity's (Carrie-Anne Moss) "Neb" costume design hand-drawn by Emmy Award®-winning costume illustrator Lois DeArmond for the production of the Wachowskis' The Matrix. While aboard the Nebuchadnezzar, Trinity wore clothes more utilitarian than the fantastical leather ensembles she favored in the Matrix.
Trinity's now-classic ensembles for the original Matrix trilogy were created by renowned costume designer Kym Barrett, who earned a Costume Designers Guild Award® nomination for Excellence in Period/Fantasy Film for her work on the first film. While Trinity ultimately did not wear the style of tunic represented in this DeArmond artwork in The Matrix, it was later adopted for many of the Zion denizens, including Niobe (Jada Pinkett-Smith), in The Matrix Reloaded.
This detailed illustration is hand-rendered, signed, and dated "97" by DeArmond in mixed media on board. It is covered with a protective sheet hand-marked "Trinity 'NEB.'" The board exhibits creased corners and fraying fibers along its edges. Dimensions: 15" x 20" (38 cm x 51 cm)
