Uncanny X-Men issue 161 page 14 published by Marvel Comics with a September 1982 cover date titled "Gold Rush!" The issue was written by Chris Claremont with pencils by Dave Cockrum and inks by Bob Wiacek. This issue from Cockrum's second run on Uncanny X-Men is today regarded as a landmark issue for its depiction of the origin story of Magneto, a Holocaust survivor and mutant with the power to control metal.
This six-panel comic art board features Dachau survivor Gabby Haller, who first appeared in this issue, as well as appearances by Professor X (aka Charles Xavier) and Magnus, aka Max Eisenhardt, who would later become Erik Lehnsherr, aka Magneto. It is rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board, hand-marked "X-Men," "161," and "14" in the top margin, and additionally annotated beginning with "Bob - Feel free to add.." along the right margin. The reverse is stamped with a Marvel Comic copyright and features a sketch of Professor X believed to be hand-drawn in graphite by Cockrum. Three of the boards' corners are cut, and it exhibits correction fluid marks and staining throughout. Dimensions: 16" x 11" (40.75 cm x 28 cm)
