A set of prototype large and medium EVA boots from the production of Ridley Scott’s 2015 sci-fi survival film The Martian.

These boots and others like them were made during pre-production to help finalise the look of the EVA suits in the movie. The set consists of two right-foot boots, each featuring a ‘Large’ sticky label inside, and one left-foot boot featuring a ‘Medium’ label. They are made from white canvas with mesh encased padding on the inside and an elastic adjuster sewn into the cuff. Each boot features a beige rubber sole with a section of white leather glued to the arch displaying the NASA logo printed in black.

These boots display some clay-coloured marks and discolouration from production use but otherwise remain in very good condition.
