Mark Watney's (Matt Damon) Ares III promotional surface helmet replica from Ridley Scott's The Martian. Watney wore his surface EVA suit while he worked on and survived the inhospitable Martian environment after he'd been left for dead by his crew. AMC gave away replica helmets such as this as promotional gifts.

The Martian is director Scott's highest grossing film, and was nominated for seven Academy Awards® and three Golden Globes, of which it won two for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and Best Actor Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Costume designer Janty Yates worked extensively with NASA officials, researchers, and engineers to ensure the film's spacesuits were as realistic as possible.

This Ares III promotional helmet replica is made of plastic with a clear acrylic visor, and faux cameras on both sides of the head. It features decals of Watney's name and the NASA logo on the back, with ARES III on one side, as well as "2" on the cameras. The visor is moveable. This lot exhibits chipped paint and scuffing to the acrylic visor. Dimensions: 13.75" x 15.75" x 12.5" (35 cm x 40 cm x 32 cm)
