Don Diego Vega's (Tyrone Power) military ensemble from Rouben Mamoulian's The Mark of Zorro. Diego wore his military ensemble during his time at the military academy, until his father Don Alejandro Vega (Montagu Love) called him to return home to California, Mexico.
While The Mark of Zorro was originally released in black-and-white, it was later colorized for a 2005 re-release by Legend Films. In the colorized version, Diego Vega's military ensemble was colored with an inaccurate color scheme. As a result, shots of Diego Vega's ensemble from the 2005 re-release do not match the ensemble seen in the 1940 original.
This lot originates from Planet Hollywood. It consists of a matching polyester military cap with nylon embellishments and tassels; a polyester Western Costume Co. jacket with nylon and metal embellishments on the front, marked "A-19-3" on the lining, and marked "84-2155-2 Tyron Power Ch #4 Chest 10 Wrist 34 Inseam 33"; a pair of matching polyester pants with nylon embellishments; and a nylon cord and metal belt. This lot exhibits loose threads throughout, discoloration, and minor holes in the pants.
