A sword used in the 1998 action-adventure film The Man In The Iron Mask. With the Three Musketeers having gone their separate ways and France collapsing in the early reign of Louis XIV (Leonardo DiCaprio), a plan is hatched for Athos (John Malkovitch), Porthos (Gerard Depardieu) and Aramis (Jeremy Irons) to replace the King with a kinder soul, a secret from the King’s past. The only one standing in their way? Their old friend and comrade, D’Artagnan (Gabriel Byrne).
This sword was created for use in the film’s many swashbuckling fight scenes, used by the retired musketeer Athos (John Malkovich) throughout the film. The weapon features a lightweight aluminium blade, dented through use in the film’s sword fights, with a large, intricately patterned metal guard and a leather-bound wood grip. The blade is purposefully blunted to prevent unnecessary injury through use on set, ensuring the safety of the performers.

Well used on the production, the weapon has lost some of its finish and features some wear through use. However the weapon remains in an overall good production-used condition.
