This beautiful German-language country-of-origin poster is one of only a few examples known. The export style of this poster, which features no credits to avoid translation issues in foreign markets, does come to market infrequently.

This rare poster has been conserved on linen and had minimal restoration, including minor color touch-ups to the fold lines and light, sporadic airbrushing on the borders, and touch-ups to an extra diagonal crease through the palm image.

Director Fritz Lang took European darkness to American cinema and made a series of noir classics - The Big Heat, Scarlet Street, and Woman in the Window. Now seen as the precursor of the film noir genre, Lang's M made Peter Lorre a star. Based on a true story, Lorre portrays a child murderer tpursued by the German police and the criminal underworld.
