This is one of only two copies of this rare German Country-of-Origin poster from director Fritz Lang's haunting crime drama. The poster features a striking image that captures the essence of the film, which tells the story of a child murderer chillingly portrayed by Peter Lorre. It was folded and has since been linen-backed. Expert professional restoration includes touch-ups in several areas including the white field to the right of the shadow's head, the German censor stamp, the vertical gray area to the right of, and within the hand. Additionally, airbrushing has been done on the borders to repair pinholes, small areas of chipping, and general wear. This rare and highly desirable poster is spectacular, showcasing fresh, bright colors when viewed in person.

Director Fritz Lang brought the dark themes of European cinema to America, creating a series of noir classics such as "The Big Heat," "Scarlet Street," and "Woman in the Window". Now regarded as a precursor to the Film-Noir genre, Lang's film "M" catapulted Peter Lorre to stardom. Based on a true story, the film features Lorre as a child murderer who is pursued by both the German police and the criminal underworld.
