Marcus Luttrell's (Mark Wahlberg) Hero Mk. 12 Mod 1 Special Purpose Rifle from Peter Berg's 2014 war drama, Lone Survivor. Tasked with capturing or killing the notorious Taliban leader, Ahmad Shah, SEAL Team 10 encounters more than they bargained for during their dangerous mission, Operation Red Wings. Luttrell can be using this style of firearm throughout the film, and this particular version can be screen matched due to sight specific paint work in the camouflage pattern. The SPR, used by Special Operations Forces, is a heavily modified light designated marksman variation of the M16A2.
Made from rubber, this weapon has been painted in a desert camouflage color and has a distance chart taped to the collapsible stock. Cast from an actual Mk. 12, this firearm includes original factory markings embedded on the side of the weapon. This item features numerous accessories built into the firearm including a fore grip, twine-wrapped suppressor, AN/PEQ-2 IR designator and a Leupold MR/T scope. Rubber weapons such as this piece are commonly used for stunt sequences in which the actor could possibly fall on the prop and injure themselves if they were holding an actual firearm.
Luttrell's rifle features minor wear from production use, including some paint chipping and a small break in the foam rubber where the laser sight meets the side rail, however it remains in overall very good condition.
The violent crime reduction bill means that this particular prop can only be sold to customers who reside outside the UK. Generally speaking, it is illegal for a resident of the UK to buy this item.
Exemptions are for N.A.R.E.S (or similar) registered re-enactors, public museums/galleries or use in a film, television or theatrical production. In all cases paperwork will be required to complete the sale.
