Danny Dietz's (Emile Hirsch) Tactical Vest, Backpack and Accessories from Peter Berg's 2014 war drama, Lone Survivor. Tasked with capturing or killing the notorious Taliban leader, Ahmad Shah, SEAL Team 10 encounters more than they bargained for during their dangerous mission, Operation Red Wings. Dietz can be wearing this tactical rig and backpack during the mission in Afghanistan. To guarantee the accuracy of the film, SEAL Team 10 survivor Marcus Luttrell was brought in to supervise the use and display of all tactical gear.
Manufactured by Lion Industries, Dietz's backpack is a medium size combat field pack made for military and tactical purposes. Similar to a hiking backpack, this item features a metal frame with a lower back support and is made from nylon with numerous adjustable straps and compartments. The compartments have been stuffed with foam to give the bag shape, and the primary pouch also includes a camouflage blanket. This item has been production distressed with dirt and grime, and includes a few straps that have been wrapped in tan colored tape, giving the piece a weathered appearance.
Worn around Dietz's chest is a tactical vest made by Condor. This rig features numerous compartments for ammunition and accessories, and like the backpack, has been distressed by production with dirt and blood stains from the SEAL team's deadly mission. While some pockets have been stuffed with foam or bubble wrap, most pockets have been outfitted with ammunition, including six foam rubber magazines, three explosive rounds for the grenade launcher, and a faux hand grenade. The vest also includes a Blackhawk carabiner, and a plastic knife sheathe.
The vest includes an inscription that reads "Dietz 5" while the tactical vest reads "#Dietz 2." This lot features wear from production distressing and stunt work, with the tactical rig showing small spots of stage blood (see photos). Both items are in excellent used condition.
