MGM, 1962

Teenaged Sue Lyons gazes through red heart-shaped sunglasses while enjoying a lollipop on this three sheet poster. Printed on two panels, it was professionally linen-backed, featuring minimal expert touch-ups to some of the folds. Certain areas of the borders have been airbrushed to cover pinholes and corner wear. Additionally, there are some fingerprint smudges along the lower border, and the linen backing has been trimmed to the edges of the poster. This larger format is a rarer find in the poster collecting community.

"Lolita" is a black comedy-psychological drama directed by Stanley Kubrick, adapted from Vladimir Nabokov's once-considered-unfilmable 1955 novel. Starring James Mason, Shelley Winters, Peter Sellers, and Sue Lyon in her film debut, it follows a middle-aged professor's obsessive infatuation with a young girl. Constrained by the Hays Code, Kubrick and producer James B. Harris significantly softened the novel's explicit elements for the screen.
