A coat and pair of trousers from Tom Hooper's Academy Award®-winning musical drama Les Misérables. Based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables tells the story of reformed convict Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) and his attempts to leave his criminal past behind him, constantly dogged by the persistent and ruthless Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe).
Javert wore his black costume when going undercover as a rebel to spy on the revolutionaries, and multiple versions of the costume would have been made for the production. The set consists of a double-breasted black coat and a pair of black trousers. The coat features six large buttons on the front and a long vent in the back. The trousers are made of wool with a zip and hook and eye fastening at the front, and black buckled stirrups at the ankles.

Both components feature an Academy Costume label and display signs of production use including intentional marks from distressing. The set remains in very good production-used condition.
