Belvision's Tintin series, produced under Raymond LeBlanc, represented the first screen adaptations of Herge's stories. LeBlanc founded Belvision Studios in 1954 specifically to bring The Adventures of Tintin to television, pioneering a European animation style defined by its clean linework, graphic colour blocking, and painterly backgrounds. Each cel was hand-painted on acetate, preserving the purity of Herge's ligne claire style while allowing for nuanced cinematic movement.
