Leonard Nimoy's personal Contax 645 camera equipment with a pair of photos. This was one of the camera sets that Nimoy used as a photographer.

Outside of his playing the role of Spock on Star Trek, one of Leonard Nimoy's greatest passions and hobbies since childhood was photography. He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, and wrote several books featuring his photography work, including Shekhina (2005), The Full Body Project (2008), and Secret Selves (2010). His work has been exhibited at the R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.

This lot, originally from Leonard Nimoy's personal collection, contains a metal case containing a Contax 645 camera body with an 80MM lens, two film backs with extra film loader, a Polaroid film back (with Polaroid film inside), a 45-degree prism view, and front and back covers. The case features the remnants of a mailing label addressed to Leonard Nimoy. Also included is an 8" x 10" color photo of Leonard Nimoy using a different set of camera equipment, and a 4.75" x 7" greeting card featuring an image of Nimoy as Spock. This lot exhibits scuffing to the task, as well as the covers and polaroid film back. Dimensions: 18" x 14" x 6" (47 cm x 37 cm x 18 cm)
