A Nautilus diving suit costume from Stephen Norrington's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. After the Nautilus could go no further in Venice, Captain Nemo (Naseeruddin Shah) ordered his divers to descend into the waterway in search of the explosives.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a financially successful film, grossing over $179 million worldwide in theaters and received 12 nominations. It has had a lasting cultural impact referenced in various other media such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Simpsons; and was Stephen Norrington's, director of the cult-classic film Blade, last film.

This lot consists of one costume inspired by the early 20th century diving dresses with a notable traditional Hindu aesthetic comprised of a silver-color helmet with two attached ribbed tubes; a silver-color and faux-ivory cowl with air tanks; a long-sleeve, cream-color poly-blend top; a padded white polyester under jumpsuit; a silver-color and faux ivory weight belt; pair of cream-color rubber gloves; cream-color pants; and a pair of silver-color boots. The helmet, cowl, belt, and boots are composed of fiberglass with metal and foam components. The interior of the cowl features a Robert Allsopp tag hand-marked "3" and "Three" in black ink, while the belt features a hand-marked "4" in black ink. This lot exhibits cracking in the faux ivory finish, chipped paint and fiberglass, and discoloration, throughout.
