This lot will be auctioned on Sunday, November 6th. A set of six French Connection UK-branded cartons from Matthew Vaughn's crime thriller Layer Cake. French Connection UK products featured in the film's opening montage, during which the unnamed protagonist (Daniel Craig) theorised that illegal drugs will eventually be made legal, his point illustrated by a series of imaginary shop shelves selling French Connection UK-branded drugs.

The front of each paperboard carton features the FCUK brand and the name of the narcotic product contained within: ecstasy, LSD, cocaine, heroin, crack and speed, respectively. Three of the six cartons also include slogans at the front. The rear of the cartons incorporate the FCUK logo and a barcode.

While most established brands might have been reluctant to engage in such a risky piece of marketing, the executive producer of the film was Stephen Marks, who was also the founder, chairman and CEO of French Connection Group PLC. Dimensions (largest): 14.5 cm x 8 cm x 8 cm (5 3/4" x 3 1/4" x 3")
