T. E. Lawrence's (Peter O'Toole) hero flare gun from David Lean's historical epic Lawrence of Arabia. Lawrence used his flare gun to signal the start of an attack on a Turkish train, and Colonel Harry Brighton (Anthony Quayle) also used one.

The gun is a Webley & Scott No. 1 Mk. III with a flanged muzzle extension, which was a common signal pistol for British and Commonwealth forces during World Wars I and II. It is made predominantly of brass with a wooden grip. The flare gun has been sympathetically deactivated, but the trigger and hammer both still move. It is accompanied by an empty brass cartridge, a certificate of deactivation, and a letter of authenticity from John Richardson, son of special effects technician Cliff Richardson who worked on the film, detailing its history including its use on the set of Lawrence of Arabia.
