General Hasegawa's (Togo Igawa) tanto sword and sheath from Edward Zwick's historical drama The Last Samurai. The defeated Hasegawa used his tanto to commit seppuku with Lord Moritsugu Katsumoto (Ken Watanabe) acting as his kaishakunin.

This lot consists of a urethane tanto with a blade painted silver-colour to resemble metal and a hilt painted black with gold-colour embellishments and sculpted to resemble cord wrapping, as well as a black plastic sheath with fabric cord looped through it. The blade exhibits some fracturing near the base. Dimensions (sheathed): 37 cm x 4 cm x 3.25 cm (14.5" x 1.5" x 1.25")
