A Sleestak costume display from Brad Silberling's 2009 sci-fi adventure film, Land of the Lost. Loosely based on the classic television series, the film follows Dr. Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) and his research assistant as they endure the perils of an alternate universe. The Sleestak are an aggressive race of humanoid lizard creatures who plan to take over earth under the leadership of the evil Zarn. Sleestak creatures are first seen when Rick, Holly (Anna Friel), and Will (Danny McBride) stumble upon ancient ruins that are guarded by the reptilian aliens.
This costume consists of a mask, bodysuit, and gloves. Constructed primarily of foam latex, the mask features dark black plastic eyes that attach via magnets. The mouth is cable controlled from within the helmet and allows the jaw to open and close. The mask is built around a helmet that has been marked "TS" and attaches to the bodysuit with Velcro. The bodysuit is similarly constructed of foam latex, and features a hidden zipper along the back that is concealed by a flap of scaled skin that attached with Velcro. The hands attach at the wrist via snap buttons, and feature resin claws like the feet.
This costume resides on a temporary mannequin that is attached to a wheeled wooden base. The mannequin has sustained some damage due to storage with one of the plastic arm supports missing. As the display is not warrantied, the option to remove the costume from the display for shipping is available. Please inquire prior to purchase.
This Sleestak shows minor wear to the costume itself with some small tears in the foam latex skin, however the costume remains in overall very good used condition.
