Concept artwork of King Kong at the village gate hand-drawn by production illustrator David J. Negron, Sr. for the production of John Guillermin's King Kong. In the film, the villagers of an ancient gated island community attempted to sacrifice Dwan (Jessica Lange) to Kong, but Kong became enamored and protected Dwan against the island's other inhabitants.

This concept sketch of villagers fleeing from the gate at the sight of Kong is rendered and annotated "Original Drawing David Negron, Signed Kong Coming to the Gate of the village" in charcoal on illustration paper. It exhibits slight creasing. Dimensions: 52.5" x 24" (133.5 cm x 61 cm)
