A Tyrannosaurus Rex eye from Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park. Once the park's power was shut off, the lone T-Rex broke out of her pen to hunt the stranded Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), as well as Lex (Ariana Richards) and Tim Murphy (Joseph Mazzello).

This ornately detailed T-Rex eye with a sculpted yellow and black core, lifelike yellow and brown latticework veins, and a dental acrylic coating was created by key artist Rob Hinderstein at Stan Winston Studio. Eyes such as this were made for practical effects and close-up shots of the animatronic dinosaur on the main road in Jurassic Park during the attack sequence.

"Rex 2nd Head" is handwritten in black ink on the underside of the eye with two arrows pointing away and up its interior walls. This lot exhibits chipped and cracked acrylic, bubbles and pitting from the curing process, and mild discoloration on verso. Dimensions: 4.5" x 4.5" x 3.5" (11.5 cm x 11.5 cm x 9 cm)
