A baby Triceratops maquette from Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi film Jurassic Park. Phil Tippett is credited as the film’s Dinosaur Supervisor, and produced stop-motion animatics for the dinosaur sequences, as well as supervised the CG animation. Tippett won the Oscar^® for Best Visual Effects for his work on this film at the 66th Academy Awards^®.

The maquette was created by Stan Winston Studio as a reference piece for Phil Tippett to create go-motion puppets. This baby Triceratops maquette is made of foam urethane and was made for an unrealized sequence in which Lex (Ariana Richards) rode a baby dinosaur. The horns and beak are painted off-white, while the remainder of the maquette is left unpainted.

The maquette shows minor wear due to production use but remains in very fine condition. Dimensions: 5” x 15” x 8” (13 cm x 38 cm x 20 cm)
