An oversized stunt spider from the 1995 board game adventure film Jumanji. In the film, a variety of wildlife and other jungle terrors comes out of the board game with each roll of the dice, some of which are a collection of large spiders. Made for the production, this stunt spider and others like it would have been used during stunt sequences to prevent the animatronic spiders from sustaining any damage.
Made of foam urethane, the spider is made up of eight legs with metal armatures, an abdomen and a cephalothorax. The spider also features chelicerae and a fang. The eight legs are made of flexible metal armature wire and remain unsecured to the spider's body. The spider shows some signs of wear and discoloration from production use and age, but the piece remains in good overall condition.
