Hand-painted artwork created by Johnny Depp, who originally gifted this piece to a close friend. Although best known for acting and as a musician, Depp has expressed an interest in art and has produced his own drawings for many years. He has proved that he is an incredibly gifted artist, producing several popular collections of his artwork, which have been released through the art retailer Castle Fine Art.
The lot comprises a painting of one half of a face in red, purple and black shades on a round-shaped piece of paper. Black has been used to fill the rest of the piece, perhaps indicating that the other half of the face is hidden in shadow. A small hole has formed near the ear of the figure, and the piece exhibits minor creasing. Dimensions: 24 cm x 24 cm (9.5" x 9.5")
