An elephant-patterned waistcoat worn by legendary American rockstar Jimi Hendrix.

As one of the most eminent artists of the 1960s rock music revolution, Hendrix was also one of its leading style icons. Waistcoats with ornate and often psychedelic designs were staples of his wardrobe, whether he wore them for concerts or photoshoots.

This waistcoat is comprised of a cotton base material on which intricately threaded patterns and small metal features combine to embellish the piece in a classic Jimi Hendrix fashion.

The lot is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from and signed by Hendrix's father, James A. "Al" Hendrix, and a certificate of authenticity from Concerts West, Inc., the company that booked his concerts.
