A wonderful original production cel from The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones (Hanna-Barbera, 1987), one of the most eagerly anticipated animated crossover events in television history, personally signed by creators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.
The premise alone is irresistible. When Elroy Jetson's time machine malfunctions, the Jetsons find themselves stranded in the Stone Age, and the two most famous animated families in television history finally come face to face. For a generation raised on both shows, it was the meeting they had always imagined, and Hanna-Barbera delivered it with all the warmth and comic energy the characters deserved.
This production cel setup captures Fred Flintstone and George Jetson together outside the Flintstone home in Bedrock, both mid-leap, faces set with that determined, wide-eyed urgency that both characters did so well. There is something genuinely joyful about seeing George Jetson, in his white tunic and blue trousers, airborne alongside Fred outside that iconic prehistoric house. It is a collision of two worlds that defined American popular culture across two decades, and the image carries all of that affection with it.
The cel is set on a studio printed presentation background created from the original archived background of the Bedrock exterior, and bears the signatures of both William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the men who built the studio that made both families possible. Their joint signature on a piece featuring both properties together gives this a particular resonance.
Presented in its original frame and mount, we are delighted to offer a setup that celebrates one of Hanna-Barbera's most beloved productions and the creative partnership that sustained it.
Estimate: $300 - 600
