An Argonaut sword and sheath from Don Chaffey's fantasy adventure Jason and the Argonauts. Swords of this style were wielded by the Argonauts throughout the film.

Renowned for Ray Harryhausen's groundbreaking stop-motion effects, the production marked a pivotal milestone in the evolution of cinematic visual effects.

The sword features an aluminum grip and a blade built on a steel armature, covered in leather that has been painted silver to mimic metal. The unusual leather construction may have allowed for safer handling during stunts or fight scenes.

The sword has wear from production use and age, most notably the silver paint has worn away from both the blade and grip, and the leather blade is scuffed and slightly warped. Dimensions: (70.5 cm x 16.5 cm x 3 cm)
