An Argonaut helmet, retractable sword, and sheath from Don Chaffey's fantasy adventure Jason and the Argonauts. Swords were wielded, and helmets were worn by the Argonauts throughout the film.

Renowned for Ray Harryhausen's groundbreaking stop-motion effects, the production marked a pivotal milestone in the evolution of cinematic visual effects.

Originating from an Italian prop and costume house, the items in this lot are made of metal and embellished with decorative engravings and raised details. The aluminum blade is retractable when the point impacts a solid target, indicating it was designed for moments when the wielder stabbed an enemy.

The helmet exhibits internal rust, and the retractable mechanism in the sword is somewhat stiff. Dimensions (sword): 31" x 6.75" x 1.25" (79 cm x 17 cm x 3 cm)
