A Stealth Boat Chair from the submarine lair of Elliott Carver (Jonathan Pryce) seen in the 18th Bond action adventure Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) which also starred Pierce Brosnan. The film sees Bond (Brosnan) pit his wits against a powerful media mogul (Pryce) set on forcing war between the UK and China. A popular sequence in the movie is with the remote control BMW 750i used by Bond as he spectacularly attempts to escape Elliot Carver's Hamburg headquarters. Pierce Brosnan uses a Nokia phone to control the car. Bond skilfully drives it using only this gadget and with a few dents and some broken glass, he amazingly avoids capture.
The chair can be seen being occupied by Carver's evil henchman as they go about the process of world domination. This one and others just like it (removed from other stunt cars for that same sequence) are visible on the main control deck. The seat, finished in grey leather, still has its original prop made base for use on the boat. A power lead runs from it that would have been connected allowing full functionality of the lumbar support, tilt and even the heater. It measures approximately 140cm x 70cm x 58cm (55” x 27.5” x 22.75”) and is in superior production used condition.
