A Día de Muertos street poster crew gift inscribed by Sam Mendes with a plane control panel from the director’s second Bond film, Spectre. In the pre-credits sequence, James Bond (Daniel Craig) tracks SPECTRE agent Marco Sciarra (Alessandro Cremona) through the Day of the Dead festival, with Día de Muertos posters adorning the streets of Mexico City. Later, high in the Austrian mountains where the Hoffler Klinik is situated, Bond hijacks a plane in pursuit of the captured Madeleine (Léa Seydoux).
The poster, gifted to a crew member who worked on the production, is inscribed by director Sam Mendes, “Love Sam”, in black marker and numbered “0466” from an edition of 1,000. The control panel is constructed of wood with metal elements, including the levers' rods.
The panel exhibits scuffing from production use and rusting on the levers, consistent with age. Dimensions (control panel): 34.5 cm x 20.5 cm x 24.5 cm (13.5” x 8” x 9.75”)
