A 2nd unit clapperboard from the production of Irvin Kershner's Bond film Never Say Never Again. Offering a rare opportunity to acquire an authentic artefact from the golden age of twentieth-century cinema, this clapperboard was used during the production of Sean Connery’s celebrated return to the role of James Bond.
Identifiable as a 2nd unit slate by inscriptions to both the upper and lower edges, the clapperboard is constructed from wood and features the film's title painted within the upper information box. The top stick remains attached to the main slate via metal hinges and screws. A collection of film roll records is taped to the reverse, the presence of which may indicate that the clapperboard occasionally doubled as a 1st unit slate during production.
The lot exhibits significant production wear and age-related deterioration, including rust on the metal hinges and screws, scuffing and weathering on the wooden surfaces, and fading of the white paint. Dimensions: 15" x 13.75" x 0.5" (38 cm x 35 cm x 1.5 cm)
