A pair of Casino de Monte Carlo "10,000" plaques from Martin Campbell's Goldeneye. James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) and Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) bet with holographic plaques during their game of baccarat at the Casino de Monte Carlo.
The seventeenth film in Eon Productions' James Bond series, Goldeneye was a turning point in the James Bond film franchise. It was the first Bond film to not use any story elements from the Ian Fleming novels from which the film series was adapted; the first of Eon Production's Bond films to not be produced by Albert R. Broccoli after he stepped down and handed the reins to his daughter, Barbara Broccoli; and the first film to star Pierce Brosnan as the latest actor to portray James Bond and introduce Dame Judi Dench as the new M. Goldeneye was the fourth highest grossing film of 1995 and, at the time of its release, the highest-grossing James Bond film yet.
This lot originates from Planet Hollywood. Custom-made for the film, these plastic plaques with blue borders are applied on front and back with holographic gold-color and silver-color decals featuring red and orange accents and the text "Societe Des Bains De Mer 10,000 Monaco." One plaque is attached to a piece of acrylic. The lot shows evidence of intentional production distressing together with wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age; including tears in the decals on one plaque where it was removed from a display.
