"James Bond. You think he was some kind of hero."

A prop intelligence photograph used in the production of Lee Tamahori's 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day.

After being betrayed during a mission in North Korea and eventually returned to MI6, Bond (Pierce Brosnan) has to hunt down British entrepreneur Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) before his solar weapon can be used on the Korean peninsula.

This piece was created for use in MI6 personal dossiers at MI6 headquarters, with a similar still seen in use in the personal record of MI6 cryptanalyst Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike). This particular photograph was ultimately not seen on screen. The file photograph features a shot of Miss Moneypenny (Samantha Bond) in front of a union flag and the MI6 crest. In a fun anomaly, details at the bottom of the page relate not to Moneypenny but to Gala Brand the original name for Frost and a character in the Ian Fleming novel Moonraker. Various file numbers and reference codes are printed alongside the name.

Displaying minimal wear from its time in use, the photograph remains in very good condition.

Materials: Card.
