Iron Monger's (Jeff Bridges) screen-matched, light-up helmet and torso from Jon Favreau's Iron Man. After Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) escaped terrorist capture with a home-made iron suit, Obadiah Stane (Bridges) commissioned the Iron Monger suit and used it against Iron Man during the film's climactic finale. Distinctive points of distressing around the torso screen-match to when Stane installed the arc reactor he stole from Iron Man.
The inaugural film in Phase One of the MCU, Iron Man is today recognized among the most successful - and influential - films in world history, earning more than $585 million in global box office as well as such prestigious accolades as Academy Award®, BAFTA®, and Grammy® nominations. The film adapted a villain from the comics, Obadiah Stane, who first appeared in Iron Man No. 163 (Oct. 1982) and debuted his Iron Monger suit in Iron Man No. 200 (Nov. 1985).
The torso piece is made of fiberglass shells assembled around a metal structure. Made for use as the stationary model, one wooden and two metal beams run inside the chest body piece from one shoulder to the other, reinforcing the shoulder mounts where the arms would have attached during production.
Offered during the original official Marvel Iron Man auction in 2010 and created by Legacy Effects, this large, imposing lot consists of a fiberglass helmet painted to resemble machined metal, as well as a matching fiberglass torso with a chest "RT" (repulsor transmitter), a tinted acrylic lens and metal ring, and various ports and accents on the back and sides. The torso comes mounted to a display base designed to rotate for easier 360-degree views of the lot.
A battery-powered switch in the helmet illuminates the eyes, while a cord running into the back of the torso powers the RT's glow. The lot exhibits some wear, including scuffs, paint chipping, and two of six lower-back connector elements missing. Dimensions: 41" x 43" x 50" (104.25 cm x 109.25 cm x 127 cm)
