A Lestat (Tom Cruise) decayed head test bust from Neil Jordan's vampire horror film, Interview With the Vampire. Based upon Anne Rice's best selling novel, the film follows the vampire Louis (Brad Pitt) as he retells his life long story of love, betrayal, loneliness, and hunger.
This incredibly life like bust was used to test the final look for the face of Lestat when he returns from the dead and attacks Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) for being a ‘very naughty girl’. The bust is made from dense polyfoam core and latex, and features emphasised ears, nose, eyes that are closed and rotting teeth. The ‘skin’ displays several lines displaying the aged, decayed state of the face and it is evident on the back of the head that a wig was once adhered to the bust during pre-production. The piece has been hand-painted in varying dark flesh tones adding to its eerie appearance. Displaying light tears in the bottom edge of the bust, the bust remains in very good production-used condition.
