A light-up Shanghai street lantern from the production of Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. In the classic opening sequence, Shanghai Triad leader Lao Che (Roy Chiao) and his henchmen chased Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) through the lantern-lined streets of Shanghai.

This colorful sky lantern was manufactured in Hong Kong, but ultimately unseen in the final cut. It features a paper shell printed with Chinese characters and patterns applied around a metal wire interior and sewn at the bottom with metallic thread tassels. The interior is wired to an AC-powered cord designed to illuminate the lantern from the inside. Also included is a lightbulb added after production for display. A tag on the top of the lantern identifies the manufacturer, but the first word has faded from age. The paper exhibits fraying and tearing around its edges. Dimensions: 18.5" x 11" x 8" (47 cm x 28 cm x 20.5 cm)
