A bound revised fifth draft of Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas' screenplay for Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark printed as a Lucasfilm studio copy circa the 1990s. Impressed by his script for what would become Michael Apted's Continental Divide, George Lucas and Spielberg hired Kasdan to write the screenplay in 1978 based on an original idea Lucas created circa 1973. The final screenplay, for which Lucas and Philip Kaufman ultimately received "Story by" credit, was completed in December 1979, with this revised fifth draft dated "April 1980."
This 103-page, brass brad-bound screenplay originates from the collection of executive producer Howard Kazanjian. Labeled "Lucasfilm Ltd." on its cover, it is photocopied from an original screenplay stamped with "ROLA 103015" and underlined throughout. The script shows evidence of minor cover bending and edge wear consistent with handling and age. Dimensions: 8.5" x 11" x 0.5" (21.75 cm x 1.5 cm x 28 cm)
