Artwork hand-painted by Eisner Award®-winning comic artist Dave Dorman for the cover of Indiana Jones: Thunder in the Orient issue 1 published September 1, 1993 by Dark Horse Comics. The issue, in which the titular archaeologist raced to find the Covenant of Buddha, was written, penciled, and inked by Dan Barry with cover artwork by Dorman.

After creating covers for the full run of Dark Horse's Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis miniseries, Dorman was hired by the comic book publisher's long-time editor-in-chief Randy Stradley to create one final Indy franchise cover for the launch issue of Thunder in the Orient. The resulting cover artwork depicting a photo-realistic version of Harrison Ford as the titular archaeologist along with his signature fedora and whip, was later reused for the cover of Dark Horse's Indiana Jones Omnibus: Volume 1.

This painting is rendered and signed "Dorman" in mixed media on illustration board. Included with this cover artwork is a hand-drawn preliminary sketch titled "Indiana Jones Cover Rough #2" with Dorman's signature at the bottom and a copy of Dark Horse Comics Indiana Jones Thunder in the Orient Issue 1 of 6 autographed by Dorman. The board exhibits scraping and flaking along its edges and on its reverse. Dimensions: 20" x 16" (51 cm x 40.75 cm)
