Animatronic components with production photos and ephemera from Willard Huyck's Howard the Duck. Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name that debuted in Adventure into Fear #19 in December of 1973, the film follows a duck with humanoid characteristics who was transported to Earth, where he teamed with a rock singer Beverly Switzler (Lea Thompson) to thwart an alien invasion.
This lot consists of 21 white and black vacuum-formed plastic body part components used in the flying, hot tub, and shower sequences; a 115-page shooting script dated August 21, 1985 in a cream cardstock Lucasfilm Ltd. cover; aa red vinyl binder marked "CB," "CB Charlie Bailey Creature shop Manager Contact: Page HTD," and the equations for celsius and fahrenheit on the spin with six handwritten desktop calendar pages and 202 pages of handwritten and printed notes and character sketches; a manilla folder labeled "HTD Puppet" on the closure tab and marked throughout with five color print photos of the animatronic components; four manilla production folders with a total of 194 pages of notes, correspondences, and printed storyboards; and a 250-page printed storyboard folder marked "H.T.D. Storyboards CB" on the cover and "HTD CB" on the spine with a film poster postcard.
