A very rare poster that has not been sold at auction in over thirty years.

Walt Disney's beloved character Goofy appears six times on this rare poster from the 1940s. This specific example was issued folded and has been professionally linen-backed, with expert restoration performed to repair a few tears and a small area of paper loss near the lower right corner, as well as general wear along the folds and borders. Additionally, there is airbrushing on the center of the upper border, sporadically along the right edge, and on the bottom border.

"How to Play Golf" is a short animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions and directed by Jack Kinney, released in 1944. RKO distributed the film, and it is part of a series where Goofy humorously learns to play different sports. Upon its release, The Film Daily called it "highly hilarious" and provided the following review: "This, another of Walt Disney's Technicolor cartoons featuring the Goof, is a riot. While the narrator explains how to play golf properly, Goofy attempts to demonstrate. Naturally, he does everything wrong, resulting in superb comedic outcomes. The technique and animation are indeed noteworthy. Mark this down as a top-notch film of its kind."
