A teenage Grinch hair test appliance from Ron Howard's family comedy How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This piece consists of various hair pieces affixed to a biscuit foam cast of the Grinch during his teenage years. It would have been used to review the look of the hair before the final style was approved. The major hair piece is a mesh net with the Grinch's signature blonde-green hair and lined with a hooded elastic sleeve to conceal the wearer's head comfortably. Hair is also laid over the part of the sleeve that wraps around the neck. A clasp is present here to close the sleeve and conceal the performer's neck while there are snaps on the inside that would allow the hair piece to snap into the remainder of the costume. There is another mesh net with hair applied with clothes pins across the beard area as well as at each eyebrow. The head shows little wear and remains in good condition.
