Universal, 1945

A very nice lobby set of which the title card has the most wear. There was a tear in the upper border extending into the image between the Wolf Man and the Mad Doctor. The other cards all show some signs of wear but are completely intact and in nice condition. Slight signs of restoration to the title card and a few others leave this set very presentable.

Developed initially as Wolfman vs. Dracula, this was the second of Universal's monster mash-up films, following House of Frankenstein (1944). In many ways, this film would mark the end of the Universal Monsters franchise; the next film in the cycle, Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948), was more a comedy in the vein of the duo's other films than a proper monster movie. Indeed, the end of an era was also the last time Jack Pierce, the genius who had created the looks of the monsters, would apply the make-up that made him famous, as Universal let him go in 1947. Few franchises are as collectible as the Universal Monsters, especially with so many great characters represented.
