A mermaid production maquette from Steven Spielberg's Hook. Notorious pirate Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman) kidnapped Peter Banning's (Robin Williams) children and the work-obsessed lawyer returned to Neverland to remember his past as Peter Pan and save them. Mermaids saved Peter from drowning after he walked the plank of the Jolly Roger.

This maquette was created during production as an early design of Neverland's underwater residents. Constructed from biscuit foam-filled resin, it depicts a mermaid laying across sea foam-covered rocks. Unlike the final Mermaids, this maquette shows the creatures with exposed breasts, brown hair, and red tail fins. The hand-painted piece features craftsmanship with realistic rough scales. It exhibits minor wear due to production use and age and chipped paint. Dimensions: 24" x 15" x 11" (61 cm x 38.25 cm x 28 cm)
